Third degree larceny in CT?

okay so my friend got arrested a few weeks ago for third degree larceny and i don't exactly know what he did is there anyway to findout? next this is the second time he's arrested the first time wasnt for larceny and he did two yrs. now his bond amount changed from 50,000 to 85,000 how is this possible? HELP
