Why are many Christians such bigots?

Well, we (Christians) are suppose to love the sinner, but hate the sin.. I find it really hard to judge anyone when I really wouldn't want to be judged myself!! I try to love everyone, and accept them, but pray for them. as I hope they pray for me!!
