There Was a Movie I Can't Remember the Title of..?

There was a movie in the 90's I believe and it was about this guy and his wife that movie into an old Southern plantation type house. And it's haunted. The ghosts of are this family where this man and his wife had a baby, but the baby was by a slave that the wife was having an affair with. The husband found out and put the little girl out in the snow and then stabbed the slave with some scissors.
