So how many of you realized Dumbledore was gay, before JKR said it?

I though that he has someone who he loved die, and that kind of changed him, but JK Rowling said it mostly for publicity and because she is a left wing liberal who felt that her book would thrive better if that fact was added. In my opinion, it isn't necessary.
