Pointe shoe question?

I've been doing pointe for about 2 1/2 years. I used to use Grishko 2007's with either soft or med. shanks, and then I changed to Bloch Axis. My teacher said that they didn't let me "roll-through" my feet, and we both thought they didn't look that great. Today I got some new Grishko 2007's, and they are a hard shank. I can get completely over my box, but I'm wondering if I will not be able to roll-through or do demi-pointe well with a hard shank. Does the shank affect that? Also will the hard shanks be harder to break in? Any tips for breaking in pointe shoes?
