I found a black tooth shaped object at the beach in St. Petersburg...?

Well, it could be a shark's tooth. They're sort of triangular in shape and may be worn rather thin. Since it would be brittle, you might have broken it into three pieces. Most of the ancient shark's teeth are black and shiny, but some are grey or white. The Gulf coast is an area that has many of them on its beaches, particularly around Venice.
