First time on fantasy league.. rank my team?
Pretty Solid team I'd say. Im uming you know baseball. You'll soon find out a few things about fantasy sports. You need to read, alot, pay attention to who's pitching on what day. When to play them and take them out. The injury list and percentages against certain teams. Some guys hit certain pitchers well while not so well agaisnt others. One way to help determine who to start is Yahoo baseball, or some other online source that has every player and his stats. His percentages and stats against other pitchers for their careers should all be available. I suggest you consult them when deciding who to start. You may have a guy hitting .290 but yet theres a guy on your bench hitting .240 but against a certain pitcher he absolutely owns him hitting well above .300 You'd be suprized how many times it works in your favor..... There's always someone in some league throwing a great player away because their off to a slow start, so definately watch the waiver wire.. Proven players eventually come around. Also, Catchers, SS and 2b that prodouce decent numbers are hard to find. Also there's always that one guy who wants to make a trade where he offers you 4 players for one. As good as that may sound. You only have so many slots. If you do make a trade make sure you get equal value for what your giving up. And room to put them on your team. Im not sure what kind of league it is your in. Head to Head or Rotiseree. But alot of times you have a few different categorys your team is scored in. You may have a guy like Figgens who doesn't usually hit for high average but he steals alot of bases. If you trade away a guy with that type of talent or strength, try to make sure you replace him somewhere in your line-up with another base stealer. Some guys like Puhols, Ichiro and Dye are untouchables, unless your getting back a big name star. But those guys will carry your team in Average, Homers and Rbi's......Good Luck! have fun!!
